When you sell a man a book you don't sell just twelve ounces of paper and ink and glue - you sell him a whole new life. Love and friendship and humour and ships at sea by night - there's all heaven and earth in a book, a real book. ~ Christopher Morley
Let your bookcases and your shelves be your gardens and your pleasure-grounds. Pluck the fruit that grows therein, gather the roses, the spices, and the myrrh. ~ Judah Ibn Tibbon

I have so many old illustrated books w/ covers, have not read one !! I love your blog , look forward to reading it, take care, Gina
ReplyDeleteClarification on my last comment, I do read my old poetry books, but I have about 40 -50 illustrated old antique novels I bought because of the title name, or the cover illustration. Got caught up in the ' feel ' of an old beautiful book on my bookshelf. Take care ! Gina
ReplyDeleteNice. You know how much I love antiquarian books. Rosemary
